Basics#
i-doit is installed and the first login is coming up? Here you will learn the basics -- from the user interface to objects and lists, all the way to the complete reference of all object types and categories.
First steps#
Start here if you are working with i-doit for the first time:

Objects and lists#
Everything in i-doit is an object -- servers, switches, persons, contracts. Here you will learn how to work with objects:

Object types determine what an object is -- server, client, room, person. i-doit comes with over 70 predefined object types, and you can add your own.
- Object type reference -- All standard object types in detail
- Object type configuration -- Customize and configure object types
- Custom object types -- Create your own object types
- Assigning categories to object types -- Which categories belong to which object type?

Categories contain the actual data of an object -- IP addresses, model, location, contacts. i-doit has over 120 predefined categories.

- Categories and attributes (overview) -- Compact overview of all fields
- Attribute fields -- Field types and their meaning
